Hi, I’m Tom Schutte—the travel advisor behind Three Rivers Travel.
My wife, Laura, and I have always loved traveling together, often sharing those trips with friends and extended family. Over the years, many of them told me I should become a travel advisor because they saw how much care I put into researching and planning every trip. The truth is, I almost enjoyed the research and planning as much as the trip itself.
In March 2025, I finally took their advice, and Laura and I launched Three Rivers Travel—a Fort Wayne, Indiana travel agency whose name reflects our roots here in the community.
For Laura and me, travel has always been about more than simply getting away. We have loved sharing that experience with our children—Savannah, Lizzy, and Kevin. Traveling together has given us the chance to experience new places, step away from everyday life, and create some of our favorite memories as a family.
Those experiences have taken many forms—from summer road trips and cross-country train rides to cruises and trips to see Notre Dame play in some of its biggest football games. Along the way, we’ve visited historic places, explored natural wonders, relaxed in the Florida Keys, and shared many of those trips with the people closest to us.
Many families have only so much time off from work and room in the budget for one vacation each year. That trip may be one of their largest purchases, but it represents far more than a destination, cruise, or hotel room. It is an investment in time together that cannot be replaced and memories their children may carry with them for the rest of their lives.
That is why I take the responsibility seriously. As a travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel and a member of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), I help families sort through the choices, find the right fit, and feel confident about their decisions. I approach every trip with the same care and attention I give to planning my own family’s vacations.
By the time departure day arrives, I want the decisions made, the details handled, and each family ready to enjoy the vacation they worked so hard for.
